Pros

  • Good location and ambiance
  • Has a “sister” organic farm

Cons

  • Small inventory
  • Restaurant’s food is quite expensive

Sustaina Organic Shop and Restaurant is a Japanese-owned health store in Watthana. It opened in 2010 and continues to embody sustainability to this day.

It gets a large chunk of organic and chemical-free products from its sister business, Harmony Life Farms.

The store premises have a somewhat French feel to them, and we like it very much. Sustaina has its organic shop on the ground floor while its restaurant occupies the second and third floors of its building.

Sustaina seems very capable of covering the basics when it comes to organic and healthy food. We like its fairly priced organic produce, enzyme drinks, and natural skin care products and detergents.

However, have to agree with our respondents—the selection and size of its inventory are still quite smaller than its average competitors. We hope that Sustaina could increase its supplies and even be able to introduce new products in its selection.

Also, a quick review of the restaurant: our respondents seem to rank it average at best but a bit expensive for the quality and serving size.

Nevertheless, we still recommend Sustaina Organic Shop and Restaurant. In case we’ve piqued your interest, you have the option to drop by the shop and the restaurant or order your organic food online.

    2. Pordee Health Shop

    Pros

    • Accessible location
    • Has unusual items
    • Great staff
    • Online shopping available

    Cons

    • Inventory issues
    • A bit more expensive

Pordee Health Shop is a health food store that specializes in organic products. Its inventory consists of the usual offerings and some unusual items—making it a great one-stop-shop on our books!

It carries agricultural products, snacks, seasonings, health supplements, and beverages. We’re slightly surprised by its non-food items, such as cosmetics, massage oils, electrical appliances, and other health equipment.

This variety of products available paired with the average-sized premises of Pordee Shop could give any shopper a pleasant visit. Its staff are very amiable, adding to the already enjoyable shopping experience.

But also be warned of a potentially cramped experience—the shop can get packed with customers, especially during peak hours.

We also like that you can shop at Pordee online if you don’t want the hassle. It has a website, and you can also shop with popular delivery apps.

The only thing we’re a bit concerned about Pordee Shop is the actual availability of products.

Some of our respondents have observed that the shop has more empty shelves than usual. Maybe it’s just temporary, or their visits were untimely, but we hope that Pordee always gets enough stocks (or restocks quickly) for its customers.

Nonetheless, we can vouch that whatever the shop offers is high quality, but expect more premium pricing here than in other shops.

    3. Sunshine Market

    Pros

    • Great commercial location
    • Vegan and gluten-free products
    • Promotes wholesale purchases
    • Good ambience and staff

    Cons

    • Closed on Sundays
    • Quite expensive

If you’re near the bustling commercial area of Sukhumvit 22, then we suggest that you visit Sunshine Market, in front of the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park Hotel. It’s a little walk from the main road, but it’s still straightforward to spot and reach.

Sunshine Market is open six days a week and ready to serve you the top organic, vegan, or gluten-free health products.

This store mainly sells American products, so expect the pricing to be a bit more expensive than usual (but you can watch out for promos once in a while). However, we still think the products here are definitely worth the money.

The store looks very nice and adequately spaced. Its staff is very kind and attentive—they also speak good English, so we recommend this store to farangs.

What we like best about Sunshine Market is that it promotes wholesale purchases or bulk buying by customers.

This is beneficial both for the store and for the consumer—the former will sell more while the latter would be able to buy more products at a cheaper rate.

Sunshine Market also has an online store which you can check out if you don’t feel like visiting in person. However, we are not quite sure how often are product listings updated here.

Some of our respondents reported receiving a notification or communication from a store staff asking them to switch to another product due to the unavailability of their first choice.

    4. Veggiology

    Pros

    • Huge selection of cold-pressed juices
    • Delivers nationwide
    • Great location and service

    Cons

    • Focuses only on healthy juices
    • Located in a residential soi

Next on our list is the master in organic cold-pressed juices, Veggiology along the residential Sukhumvit 41. It’s the brainchild of Ms Tan Dujrutai after she got diagnosed with thyroid disease and pursued the way of homeopathy and healthy eating.

Although it’s quite different from the other shops featured in this list, being more of a beverage bar than a general store, Veggiology still impressed us a lot with its extensive menu of different natural juice mixes.

It offers 28 types of organic, cold-pressed juices aside from its seasonal and specialty variants. This is very helpful for those who’d want to detox or have a more natural way of getting vitamins into their systems.

The juices are reasonably priced, too—bottles generally come in two sizes: 260 ml and 500 ml, which could cost around THB 130 to THB 330. There are also kids’ sizes and even one-litre variants for some of its offerings.

You can drop by its brick-and-mortar store or order the juices online (for an additional delivery fee). We’re glad that Veggiology does nationwide delivery so we can recommend it to our relatives outside Bangkok!

In addition to the juices, Veggiology also has a cafe in its brick-and-mortar store.

The cafe menu is not entirely vegan, but there are still vegan options for those who need them. Many of our respondents were quite satisfied with the quality and price of the food.

We highly suggest visiting Veggiology for the healthy drinks, the excellent service and ambiance, and the great food.

    Pros

    • Great location
    • Vast product choices
    • Good pricing
    • CBD-friendly

    Cons

    •  Delivers around Bangkok only

Organic Village is a health food store located in the legendary Siam Square of Bangkok. It’s a grocery store offering a vast selection of locally-produced organic products.

The store premises look natural but still strikingly good—a store full of wooden panels and shelves, the store screams quality service. The sales staff are attentive and kind, making our visit very pleasant.

We consider the wide variety of products as Organic Village’s most significant advantage. A lot of its products are vegan-friendly.

Organic Village sources its goods from local farmers all over Thailand. Here you can buy organic vegetables, fruits, grains, spices, and sustainably-farmed meats and seafood.

In our opinion, the prices wouldn’t hurt your pockets that much as well. For example, organic vegetables range from THB 45 to 400 per kilogram.

This store also offers prepared, packaged food for people on the go or those who simply want to sample how good healthy food is (like us)!

Surprisingly, Organic Village also offers something for those who consume cannabis in partnership with Thailand’s biggest CBD marketplace, Bloom.

Suppose you couldn’t drop by Siam Square to shop. In that case, you can also order via Organic Village’s official website and have it delivered to your doorstep—only around Bangkok, though.

Also, note that same-day delivery is only available for products ordered before 12 noon on the said day.

    Pros

    • High quality products
    • Wide range of products available
    • Convenient location
    • Great staff
    • Supports local

    Cons

    • Closed on Mondays

Only-Good Stuff is a store that brings high-quality products with health benefits to the community.

What we like about what they do is how they focus on waste minimization as well.

What’s more is that they source their products from ethical producers who share the same desire for sustainability as well as making a positive impact.

They have a physical store that we think is conveniently located on Sukhumvit Soi 24. We like how this is a place where their customers can experience their products and gain more understanding about them.

We like how extensive the range of their products is. Some of their products include coffee, tea, noodles, granola and nuts, spices and herbs, and so much more!

If you’re into all the health stuff, we’re happy to recommend them for their organic and vegan items.

The people working here are also lovely. We also love how passionate they are about sharing their advocacies.

We think it’s also amazing that they support local farmers, bakers and artisans.

All in all, we love the place and we’re not surprised that they’ve become the go-to place of many people.
