Right off the bat, we were impressed by the high standard of hygiene and sanitation practices in its establishment. After each customer, seats are fully-sanitized, while gloves, ink cups, tubes, grips, and needles are safely discarded after every session.

Moreover, All Day Tattoo Studio only uses needles and ink imported from the US. It also ensures that only the highest-quality inks are used in all projects.

Another great thing about All Day Tattoo Studio is the high level of ethics practiced by the business and its artists. Aside from being one of the few fully-licensed tattoo studios in Bangkok, it is also very strict against using bootleg and copyrighted designs.

Furthermore, it has a firm policy against tattooing couples’ names. Even though some clients are insistent, All Day Tattoo Studio is unbending since its artists have seen too many cases of coverups they have done through the years.

Next on our list is Black Pig Tattoo, owned by former street artist, Luke Satoru. This studio is also a popular spot for expats and tourists for its high-quality custom designs, especially those with oriental and geometric art.

Another reason why foreigners frequent this place is because of the ease of communicating their requirements in the design. Notably, Luke Satoru is half American and half Japanese-Thai, so he doesn’t have any trouble understanding the needs of his clients.

Moreover, Luke is known for his great personality and agile hands. Known as a master of speed by his clients, he can execute precise and detailed designs.

We also like that Luke has a light touch, and many have noted less painful sessions with him. It is always a pleasant surprise to have a comfortable inking experience.

Another thing that we like about Black Pig Tattoo is its clean facilities. The shop is also homey and private, making its clients comfortable during sessions.

We recommend reserving a slot in advance since there are only two tattoo artists in the shop. Nonetheless, Black Pig Tattoo accepts walk-ins, but be prepared to wait if there are customers with appointments coming before you.

Overall, Black Pig Tattoo and its artists, Luke and Bezt, give one of the best inking experiences in Bangkok. From the friendly atmosphere to the range and quality of designs done, this studio is a must-try for tattoo aficionados visiting the city.

For old-school tattoos with vivid colors that range from tribal designs or huge yakuza-style dragons, Common Ground is the place to be! Formerly known as Six Fathoms Deep in Pan Road, this studio found its new home near Saphan Thaksin BTS station.

Aside from its exceptional works in ink, its new location is also a novelty. Housed in a former Chinese shophouse, Common Ground transformed the venue into an oriental-themed tattoo parlor with its striking red walls covered in artworks by tattooists all over the globe.

The shop is also clean and sanitary, and its chill vibes are a plus in our books.

Currently, Common Ground is known to produce some of the best custom tattoo designs in Bangkok. We like that it has a roster of talented artists and exclusive visiting tattooists whose schedules are announced on its social media sites.

We also like the attention to detail the artists put in during inking. While most accommodate variation requests, we noted that some were stubborn about sticking to the original design.

Nonetheless, the reasonable costs are also a win at Common Ground. Rates start at 2,000 Baht per hour, without sacrificing the quality of design and service.

Finally, we had a great experience at Common Ground. Its friendly staff, talented tattoo artists, and great track record are only some of the reasons why many of its customers keep returning.

Lone Wolf Studio is a small tattoo parlor in Sukhumvit Soi 101. We like its convenient location, near Exit 1 at BTS Punnawithi Station.

Moreover, the designs in its portfolio caught our attention. We were blown away by the precise lines and dots that give life to their contemporary and minimalist styles. 

We also like that the modern designs offered at the Lone Wolf Studio prove that body ink does not have to cover large areas to make an impact. With their thin and clean lines, the tattoos made by them are certain head-turners.

Another great thing about Lone Wolf Studio is its good roster of artists. We like that each artist has an Instagram page where customers can see which one best suits their inking goals.

The affordable rates at Lone Wolf Studio are a definite win for us since its services start at only 1,000 Baht per hour for tattoos. However, while it may be due to the affordable rates, there have been some cases of overbooking, which causes customers to wait for hours.

Although the waiting hours can be long sometimes, we noticed that many of the customers we surveyed did not mind since the results were worth it. Additionally, we like that the staff is able to keep high standards of cleanliness even when it’s busy and crowded. 

Going up the Sukhumvit Road, past the vogue Thonglor district, and into the neighboring areas of Ekkamai, we found a notable Bangkok tattoo studio. Sakai is a well-established and fully-licensed tattoo establishment that has been around since 1997.

Formerly located in the Siam shopping district, Saklai moved in 2018 to its new location, a little further from the center of Bangkok. Its 25-year presence in the industry in the city makes it one of the longest-running tattoo studios.

Interestingly, Saklai is run by a tattooist couple, Poo and Leck. We were impressed that the pair started tattooing in New York City in the early 90s before going back to Bangkok to establish their studio.

Moreover, their experience in the US enables them to communicate better with their foreign clients. Even though Saklai is a famous spot for locals, many tourists frequent the place because of the skills and artistry of Poo and Leck.

We appreciate that the experience of the owners-artists shows through their works and accommodates just about any design requirement. However, the real specialty of Saklai Studio is its renowned freehand Japanese designs.

It’s also great that its prices are affordable. Of course, total costs depend on the style and size of the design, but the hourly rates start at 1,500 Baht.

Notably, we found that the standards of safety and hygiene at Saklai Studio are high, as is its popularity. Needless to say, customers should book at least a day in advance to secure a slot.

One of our favourite places to get our tattoos is Thai Tattoo Cafe. We think this is undeniably one of the best tattoo shops in Bangkok.

This tattoo shop was started in 2018 and is named so because they offer traditional Thai tattoos.

What we like about their shop is its relaxing vibe. True to its name, it really feels like we’re in a cafe because we get to sit down, relax and order drinks and even use their free wifi while we wait.

You wouldn’t have to worry about the safety of their shop because they’re registered and licensed with the district department of Thailand.

What’s more is they have a Western hygiene standard with a license to operate under local health codes.

Their services include Sak Yant Thai tattoo and all styles of tattoo done by top tattoo artists, and tattoos by traditional Thai hand poke and regular machine.

If you’re more into piercings, they also have this service available.
