The Top 8 Shoe Stores in Bangkok

Store Branding and Design

A top shoe store must be able to catch the attention of prospective shoppers through professional branding and store design.

Interiors and Lighting

We love a shoe store with cosy interiors, benches where we can sit while trying on shoes or waiting for our ordered pair, and enough mirrors for checking if a shoe suits our style.

Product Display

Being able to display many shoes in line with the current trends in its window and inside the store is a desirable sign that a shoe store has what customers are looking for.

Inventory Size

It’s great when a shoe store has more than one pair of a specific size, style, or footwear colour.

Customer Service

We always look for good pre- and after-sales service.

Pros

  • Custom-made
  • Classic, European-style shoes
  • Great location
  • Helpful and kind staff
  • Premium experience

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Only for men
  • Quality control issues

Mango Mojito is an unusual name for an establishment that sells footwear, but it somehow suits this one-of-a-kind shoe store for men.

It’s in the soi 2 of the legendary Siam Square, so it’s an easy addition to your weekend shopping routine.

This shoe store specialises in footwear with classic European designs. It also offers modern-style shoes with classical inspiration.

What we liked the most about this shop is that its shoes are custom-made, making comfort and style tailor-fit to the wearer.

The disadvantage of this is that you’d need to wait a few weeks for your pair — not the best if you need your shoe immediately or if you’re just visiting Bangkok.

Nevertheless, we can’t deny that the sales staff assists customers with utmost care and attention; the store premises are also exquisite.

These attributes justify this shop’s premium pricing (a pair can go upwards of THB 4,500).

Customers love wearing their Mango Mojito shoes; however, some we’ve reached out to seem to have gotten the shorter end of the stick with their custom shoes.

There appears to be a quality control issue with some Mango Mojito footwear.

Usual problems reported are shoes fading colour quickly, unkempt stitching of the shoe leather, and packaging ending up destroyed (if the item is for shipping).

We hope that the shop will improve over these issues.

Pros

  • At Bangkok’s shopping district
  • Shoes from different European brands
  • Posh shopping experience
  • Leather cleaning service
  • Top-notch service

Cons

  • Online responsiveness needs improvement
  • A bit difficult to find
  • Expensive
  • Offers only men’s shoes

Yet another shoe shop that offers shoes only for men, Curated and Co. Bangkok is a store in Siam Square soi 2 that carries European-style shoes under the brands Astorflex, Berwick, Paraboot, Carmina, and Saphir.

Although it’s in Bangkok’s well-known shopping district, Curated and Co. appears to be a little difficult to find; the window display can be easily dismissed, too.

We’re not surprised by this issue since it’s in an alley, not one of the square’s main roads.

But once you arrive at this store, you’ll be mesmerised by the old English shop aesthetic. It’s very luxurious, and the whole shoe shopping experience here feels very posh because of the attentive sales staff.

Aside from selling shoes, we’re glad to know the shop also offers leather cleaning services. You can bring in your other leather items like belts and bags, and they’ll come out of the store looking brand new!

In general, Curated and Co. seems to live up to its name. It only sells a vast yet well-curated collection of men’s shoes like brogues, oxfords, etc., and customers love them.

The inventory has smaller sizes available, and customers say that after-sales service is also good. However, the shop still needs improvement in responding to client inquiries online.

3. Shoes Republic

Pros

  • Japanese and European brand shoes
  • Great product quality
  • Excellent customer service
  • Shuttle service available
  • Online shopping available
  • Best for people with podiatric issues

Cons

  • A bit difficult to find
  • Expensive
  • Only sells shoes for women and children
  • Limited parking space
  • Closed on Mondays

For those who love the Japanese quality in everything, including shoes and apparel, Shoes Republic is a perfect choice.

It’s a bit hard to find and travel to because it’s at the end of an alley, but just call the shop, and it will send out a golf cart to pick you up from Sukhumvit Road (if you’re coming from either BTS Nana or Ploenchit).

Call to reserve a spot in its small parking lot if you’re driving.

As we’ve mentioned, Shoes Republic specialises in shoes made in Japan. It also sells European shoes, but nothing can beat its inventory’s quality and number of Japanese-brand shoes.

You’ll be subjected to a meticulous yet fulfilling process of finding the perfect pair of shoes for your foot size and any other podiatric requirements with the help of the shop’s knowledgeable and kind staff.

The shop itself exudes relaxation and comfort, just like the shoes it sells. You can even have tea or coffee while shopping for shoes; a comfort room is also available for customers.

You can order online through its website if you can’t come to the store.

A few downsides for Shoes Republic are the stereotypical hefty price tag that Japanese products have (which also applies to its products), its lack of a men’s section, and that it’s closed on Mondays.

Pros

  • Great location
  • Over 40 years in business
  • Huge showroom and inventory
  • Good customer service
  • Can shop online
  • Has promos and discounts
  • Can carry limited and hard-to-find shoes

Cons

  • Only street parking available
  • Only for sports shoes

This one is for the sports and athleisure fans. Dilok Store has been in the sporting shoes, apparel, and equipment business for over 40 years, making it one of the OG shoe stores in Bangkok.

Today, Dilok is arguably the top place to get basketball shoes in the city. It carries shoes under the mainstream brands Adidas, Asics, Converse, Nike, Under Armor, and Vans.

It has a standalone building with two floors of in-store displays of different sporting goods in the middle of Soi Chulalongkorn 7.

The area only has street parking, so it’s better to go here using public transportation, especially during peak seasons or store sales.

We love the store’s setup because we’re presented with two floors of great shoe selections. Seasoned customers suggest going straight to the second floor for more shoe models and bigger discounts.

You’ll find the latest styles of basketball shoes here — Dilok even has hard-to-find models and kid’s sizing in its shop, so there’s something for everyone.

The sales staff is also very attentive and helpful in ensuring you get the shoes that fit your feet and style perfectly.

We’re glad that shoes can also be ordered online through Dilok Store’s social media, Line, and Shopee store.

Pros

  • Best for streetwear fashion
  • Well-known Japanese brand
  • Online shopping available
  • Great location

Cons

  • Inferior to Japan Atmos branches
  • All in-store sales final

If your fashion style is streetwear, then Atmos Bangkok is a sneaker store you shouldn’t miss.

It’s one flagship store in Southeast Asia of Japan’s famous streetwear store Atmos in Tokyo, so you’ll be sure that it is up with the latest trends from the land of the rising sun.

This Atmos branch inside centralwOrld opened in 2018, so it’s just relatively new.

We’re glad to know that Atmos Bangkok carries Adidas, ASICS, Nike, and PUMA shoes and has its own in-house streetwear — shopping from top to bottom cannot be easier!

Online shopping is also available for those who want their shoes delivered home.

A couple of caveats come here, though.

Many consider this branch inferior to the original Ura-Harajuku, Tokyo branch (or any other Japanese branches) in service and overall store quality, but it’s in a league of its own in Bangkok.

Don’t even bother calling the store’s phone number because most of the time, callers can’t reach it, and Atmos Bangkok’s website goes down, especially during sales.

Lastly, we don’t like the store’s policy of all sales being final (i.e., return, exchange, or refund of items bought in-store is not allowed).

Although this is more of a consumer rights issue not just for Bangkok but for the rest of Thailand (that’s fit for another discussion at another time), we can’t help but feel sad that Atmos wouldn’t be a bit more considerate of customers.

Pros

  • Bangkok-based handmade shoes
  • Specialises in lambskin products
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Arch support and rubber outsoles included
  • Minimalist and fashionable style

Cons

  • Not vegan

Since 2012, Minimalist Shoes has been selling the finest Bangkok-based handmade shoes. They started with lambskin ballerinas, which has now become their core product these days.

Speaking of lambskin, this is their specialty. They’re the top shoe brand in the country that specialises in such.

Lambskin is known as the softest leather for shoes, so surely their shoes have a very smooth texture that’s a favourite among many women.

They also don’t hesitate to place an arch support and rubber outsole in their shoes. Overall, they’ve truly positioned themselves as a shoe brand with extremely comfortable shoes.

This fact is the reason why they’ve been our go-to store for great quality shoes that we can use all day.

What we also like about them is that style isn’t compromised. Comfortable shoes don’t have to look tacky and they’ve proved that time and time again.

Their minimalist shoes have a classic, timeless yet fashionable style.

To be honest, we have to reign ourselves whenever we got to their store because all we want to do is buy every product they have.

Pros

  • 80 years of experience
  • Makes use of high quality exotic leather products
  • Wide variety of products

Cons

  • Not vegan

Bangkok Bootery is an exotic leather company that began in 1937.

They handcraft the highest quality of leather and exotic skin goods such as bags, shoes, belt, jacket and a wide range of other leather accessories.

The exotic leather they use are made of genuine exotic skin of crocodile, python, ostrich, stingray and more.

With eight decades of experience, we think there’s a good reason why they’ve stood the test of time. We’re sure it’s because of the quality of their products.

We’re not surprised that they create products of a high standard because they use only the highest quality of leather.

This is why they remain unrivaled when it comes to exotic skin products both men and women.

We like that it’s also possible to customise and personalise their products to fit your exact needs.

Of course, the downside to them is that it’s not fit for those who are against exotic skin products.

What we think sets them apart from all other shoe stores is how they find solutions for any type of foot.

They allow customers have a better walking experience with their Foot Analyzer and customized insoles.

We’re impressed by their understanding of what makes the perfect pair of shoes. They have services where they measure the foot one-by-one, allows customers to discover their foot type, take the time to understand your needs, and help you find the perfect fit.
